FGA Dashboard

{ Dashboard, UX, UI, User Testing }

Introduction

This application was for the future digital planning and discovery experience for Financial Advisors and CSAs that will be incorporated into the daily advisor lifecycle. We aim higher FGA adoption rate and enhance FA effectiveness, and update the experience based on user/business needs.

The engagement duration was eight weeks.

Team and Role

I contributed as a lead designer responsible for research consolidation, concepts and prototypes,
overall design decisions, and final deliverables.

  • 2 Stakeholders

  • Client-side engineer

  • Project Manager

  • 2 Designers:

  • 2 Researchers

Research

Current FGA Breakdown

We received the current system walkthrough with SMEs, and I created a simple sitemap and current screen flow for FGA. So that we could understand better what users are referring to while user interviews.

Problem Statement Alignment

We interviewed 17 FAs and shared the result with stakeholders to shape the project scope and problem statement.
The user’s main pain point was basically:

Difficult to navigate to the necessary information.

The main reason was FGA was built for the Planning intake and not well considered for reviewing use cases. However, reviewing and adjusting are the primary use cases once intake is done.

Constrain

The current FGA is built by third-party integration, so we do not have much room to adjust the FGA itself,
so we decided to create a Dashboard for users to digest information and have easier access to FGA dive-in.

Ideation, Validation, Iteration

Final Prototype

When there is an upcoming meeting with the Client..

(Corner Case: Client reach out to FA for specific information/ information update)

Use Case 1: Probability of Success is above 85%

  1. Check the retirement age and current scenario’s probability of success.

  2. If good, export the Planning Snapshot.
(Depend on FA and Client, check: Plan Net Worth Details and Retirement Income, Annual Additions)

Use Case 2: Probability of Success is below 85%

  1. Check the retirement age and the current scenario’s probability of success.

  2. If not good, Check Combined Details and alternative scenarios.
(Depend on FA and Client, check:
Plan Net Worth Details and Retirement Income, Annual Additions)

  3. Export What If Scenario and Snapshot.

Other Deliverables

Other deliverables are included:

  • Research Consolidation Documents

  • Corner Case Wires and Flows

  • Screen Flow

  • Components Guide

  • Prototype Link

  • Parent Dashboard Card for Planning

After the launch, FGA active users increased by 16%.

Next Steps..

User Testing for last-minute content.
A couple of contents (Key Topics, Asset Allocation) are added at the last minute by stakeholders’ and SMEs’ requests.
User testing will be very beneficial for these contents to explore the best format for the users.
